Project Greenlight Australia
This is the Australian version of a popular American show and is billed over there as being one of the most unique concepts in television history. A very bold claim indeed given the changes TV programmes have undergone in the past decade, but nevertheless it is an interesting idea - and it was conceived by writer/actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The show will give local filmmakers a foot in the door to the movie industry. In 2004 pay TV channel Movie Network called for script submissions for entrants who would be followed as they made their winning independent film all the way to its launch at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival. All you aspiring film directors/actors will love this inside look at the movie industry. |

Endangered Man
Those helpful, sensitive souls at Maximmagazine are trying to reclaim men from the metrosexual trend of the noughties. This website is dedicated to the preservation of Man by "expounding on his virtues and educating the public on his current plight". Men are being asked to rebel against their feminine side by resisting facial products, getting back their knowledge of engines, and reintroducing themselves to the Holy Trinity of manhood, man-fire-speed. Of course all of this is said very tongue in cheek ... but one can't help but notice a creeping sense of seriousness in such calls to machoism! |

Fistful of Power
Welcome to the world of Scar. A world ruled by the evil Warlord Xar. After years of isolation trapped in a place known as 'The End' the Gods of Chaos gave this world to Xar and told him do with it as he saw fit. Once free, he journeyed through time and space to take the most powerful fighters - and their homelands - and bring them to his battle arena. Only a Fistful of Power can destroy Xar and free those who succumb to his powers. Now itâ¿¿s up to you to collect your fighters, assemble your army and prepare for battle. Whew, sounds like a busy afternoon. |

2005 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships
Dear Pick's Readers, do not go to Melbourne in November if you are allergic to lycra, springing adolecents, and/or sparkly eyeshadow. All will be in plentiful supply at the Rod Laver Arean when the world's best artistic gymnasts will be in Melbourne for the 2005 World Gymnastics Championships. However, if you love to see stretchy young girls do amazing things with ribbons, hoops, and balls then you will be in heaven! The last time Australia hosted this event was in 1994 when Brisbane was the lucky city. Check out this official site to get yourself in the mood. |
